Children with additional needs deserve the opportunity to engage in positive early childhood education and care experiences alongside their peers.

In partnership with the WA Inclusion Agency, Wanslea is able to offer resources and funding to ensure that early childhood education and care services are equipped to provide quality care to all children.

Additional needs may arise for children who:

  • Have a disability or developmental delay
  • Are presenting with challenging behaviours
  • Have a serious medical or health condition, including mental health
  • Are presenting with trauma-related behaviours
  • Come from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
  • Come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Come from refugee or humanitarian backgrounds

Every child deserves to be included

We work with early childhood education and care services to increase their capacity and further develop their educators’ skills. Inclusion support may include role modelling and coaching by Inclusion Professionals, funding for additional educators, access to specialist equipment and other flexible and responsive solutions to inclusion barriers.

Who is eligible for support?

The Inclusion Support program supports early childhood education and care services that the Department of Education, Skills and Employment has approved for the provision of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) under the Family Assistance Law.
